Figure Drawing

It has been too long since I had the opportunity to do some figure drawing. When I lived in Italy I found the greatest sense of community with the artists there. We would come together with a shared love of drawing, taking turns modeling for each other as often as possible. It was a melting pot of creativity, teaching, and inspiration.

While I might not have the same camaraderie that evolves in that environment, I can recapture some of that communal figure drawing passion. Here are two recent studies I did, initial sketch and color blocks in colored pencil with finishing touches in oil.
